Agilitas Sports raised ₹225 crore from Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter to expand its manufacturing, retail, product development, and sportswear brand portfolio.
Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter Back Vertically Integrated Sportswear Ecosystem
Sportswear and athleisure company Agilitas Sports has secured ₹225 crore in fresh funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter, as the company accelerates investments across manufacturing, retail, and product development. The funding round comprises a ₹200 crore follow-on investment from Nexus Venture Partners and ₹25 crore from Rainmatter.1
Founded by former Puma India Managing Director Abhishek Ganguly, Agilitas plans to deploy the capital towards product research and development, design, manufacturing capacity, retail expansion, technology, talent acquisition and brand building.2 The company is constructing an integrated ecosystem spanning manufacturing, brands and retail across India’s rapidly growing sportswear segment.
The acquisition of Mochiko Shoes in 2023 provided Agilitas with a strong manufacturing base for sports footwear, an area where India still lacks the depth seen in apparel manufacturing. This vertical integration strategy differentiates Agilitas from pure-play D2C sportswear brands that depend on external manufacturers.
Agilitas launched Lotto in India in July 2025 and is set to unveil One8, co-founded with Virat Kohli, on 21st June. The company is building a multi-brand portfolio combining acquired international brands with celebrity-backed homegrown labels. Sportsyard, Agilitas’ large-format multi-brand retail concept, brings together some of the world’s leading sportswear brands, including Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, Puma, and Skechers under one roof.3
Agilitas represents one of the fastest-growing players in India’s sportswear and athleisure ecosystem, reinforcing growing investor confidence in the country’s expanding consumer and lifestyle markets. The company’s capital deployment signals confidence in sustained sportswear consumption growth across India’s middle class.4
